Loan Application Flow for a Banking App

In this UX case study, I present a redesign of the loan application flow for a mobile banking app. Based on a hypothetical scenario where users experience high drop-off rates and dissatisfaction during the loan request process. My goal was to create a simplified, emotionally engaging, and informative experience that improves user satisfaction and increases conversion rates.

Although the problem statement provided key user pain points, I dug deeper to understand the emotional and functional motivations behind loan requests. 💡 Insights: - Loans help users reach important life goals: studies, home improvements, emergency expenses. - Users want clarity: how much will I get? how much do I pay? when will I finish paying? - As existing bank clients, users expect pre-filled information and faster approval. This helped me empathize with the user mindset: reduce friction, increase clarity, and connect emotionally.
Research & Empathy

Problem Definition
I designed a user flow for Andrea, an existing client who already has an active loan. The flow allows her to quickly request a new loan using a pre-approved amount. This approach removes unnecessary steps and enables a faster decision-making process.
Wireframes
To validate the structure and layout, I created wireframes of the key screens. These helped define the overall information architecture and user interaction patterns before moving into high-fidelity design.
UI Design & Prototype
The final UI design is clean, modern, and emotionally engaging. Key features include: ✅ Pre-approved loan amounts ✅ Clear loan calculator ✅ Life-centered loan use cases (education, medical, etc.) ✅ Simple, guided process I used Figma to build an interactive prototype that demonstrates the full flow from entry to loan confirmation.
